What is Hackintosh? - Explained
Read along as in this post you'l find everything you need to know about Hackintosh.
A Hackintosh is a computer or any device that can run Mac OS without the authorisation of Apple.
The name Hackintosh arrived from a combination of the words "Hack" and "Macintosh".
The era of Hackintosh began as Apple started to use Intel processors instead of PowerPC, starting from 2005.
Hackintoshing (I am not reccomending doing this) has many benefits like running the powerful Mac Os on cheaper, older or even more powerful computers than the Apple-Made Macintoshs. Customization is also another factor that pull people towards Hackintoshs.
There's also another term Ryzentosh refering to Mac os on powerful AMD ryzen processors as Hackintosh as spread to them too.
There is alternate way to run Mac OS on other computers which is known as virtualization. This basically means that you can trick the os that it is running on an apple computer by replicating it's properties through software(Wel that's what I understand).
Many of the Hackintosh systems available today are made by MacOS enthusaists and developers in various hacking forums and communities.
Hackintoshing is very similar to the jailbreaking in iPhones.
But Apple has made a plot twisting move that may stop hackintoshing on the traditional computers. Eventhough the new MacOS Bigsur supports Intel x86 architecture the next-gen macs wil be powered by ARM64 and thus wil eventually stop supporting the traditional x86 cpus.
After all of this a question may be in your mind well what's apple doing to prevent these. Apple uses the laws like Copyright Act, to stop users from doing this. And if you do hackintoshing and was caught red-handed you may suffer.
